To All the Starbucks Lovers:
Hi Friends! I've got some news to share, and, quite frankly, it's not the best.
Environmental Working Group [EWG] just released a report that many fast food chains are still using food wrappers, boxes and bags coated in a yucky chemical called PFCs, which are cousin to the Teflon chemical and a know carcinogen. Because of their ability to repel water and grease, PFCs are widely used in a number of applications, cause serious health effects, and are coming into contact with the food we eat!
If you're like me, you're probably reading this and thinking you dodged a bullet because you don't eat fast food [Gold Star for you!], however, I was horrified to see that Stabucks was one of the worst offenders [Good-bye spinach feta wrap!]!
So which fast food chains were the biggest culprits? Jimmy Johns, Chik-fil-A, Quiznos, Stabucks and Taco Time all returned test data of 75% or higher of items testing positive for fluorine, the likely indicator for PFCs while there were no traces of fluorine at the following joints: Carls' Jr., Checkers [anyone ever even heard of them??], Domino's, Five Guys, and Round Table Pizza. So if Carl's Jr is using wrappers for their food without PFCs, then Starbucks can too! Visit EWG's website to reach the full report and sign the petition asking the FDA to ban these chemicals in from food wrappers!

Being mindful is the name of the game. Next time you're on the go and need to grab a mini scone at Starbucks, ditch the bag [and give yourself a pat on the back].
xoxo

P.S. Did you know the words to that Taylor Swift song Blank Spaces doesn't actually say "Gotta love those Starbucks lovers", she's actually saying "Got a long list of ex-lovers"...I guess I've been singing that totally wrong! I'm going to impress my 8-year-old niece with that one soon :)
